I made it home from Kansas safe and sound. Things went very well with the company I was working with and they are now a part of the Ergon (company I work for) network. They'll be a great asset to the organization too.
Had a couple of close calls on the road on the way home today, even having to stop to make sure one poor kid was alright. Someone cut him off in the traffic and caused him to hit the barrier wall. I could see him up ahead swerving in/out of the lane and then spinning out of control a bit, stopping after he slammed into the wall. Smashed the front left section of his car... probably totaled. I was 2 cars behind him and had to make some snap assessments on what I could do and where I could go. Four of us almost collided. Pretty wild.
The car in front of me was right behind this kid and managed to avoid being hit, then it was my turn to figure out WTF I was going to do. My fear was the kid's car would bounce back into traffic once it hit that wall, but he ended up stopping, yet his rear end was sticking out in the lane. Me and the guy behind me managed to swerve around him and we pulled off on the shoulder, running to go help this kid. He was out of the car by the time we got to him and I swear he wasn't much older than Jonathan. His air bag deployed, so he had some bruising already and the rash from the air bag was evident. Beat his arm up pretty bad and he was extremely shaken, but otherwise he was ok.
We stayed with him until the police arrived, but neither of us saw the car that caused it and of course, they never stopped. Yes, mom, I thanked the dear Lord for saving us all. It was close! Thank heavens I keep a cool head in those situations, huh?
The 2nd was right before I got to W. Memphis (almost home). Up ahead, I saw another car losing control, just like that kid, but he regained control and was swerving to miss a huge piece of metal in the road. I managed to swerve around it with no problem. Was never so glad to see my little dull, plain house! LOL!
I always seem to have some kind of adventure when I travel. LOL! Sheesh!
Anyway, I'm safe and I'm home. SO glad to see my son and furry people. Missed them so much! My dog nearly knocked me down when I walked in the door. This is the longest I've been away from them.
Until later... donnap
